Teeth are extremely important. They help us talk, eat, and smile and they give us the ability to live normal everyday lives—and it all started with the baby teeth. The baby teeth are vital if you want your child to have a strong and successful oral health, so if you’re interested in knowing how to properly take care of them, we are happy to tell you!

· Clean your child’s mouth a few days after they are born and every day after that. You can clean their mouth by washing the gums with a moist gauze pad or washcloth. This will help remove the plaque that waits to harm your child’s baby teeth.
· Once the teeth grow in, brush them twice a day with a soft-bristled toothbrush and fluoride toothpaste. However, you only need to brush with a small amount of toothpaste—about the size of a small grain of rice.
· You can increase the amount of toothpaste used when your child is between the ages of 3 and 6 years old. At that time, you can use pea-sized toothpaste. Make sure your child brushes every morning and every night and if they brush on their own, please supervise and keep them from swallowing the toothpaste.
· Once two teeth grow in next to each other, make sure you floss between those teeth at least once a day. Flossing is very important and it can further prevent tooth decay and gum disease.
